About the LARP

In this LARP, you step into the shoes of those left in the wake of Amaryllis’ death. The Florist was many things to many people, and her secrets did not die with her. You will navigate a web of complex relationships, playing:

  • The Heartbroken: Loyal companions struggling to reconcile the woman they knew with the monster described in court.

  • The Wrathful: Relatives and friends seeking vengeance or justice.

  • The Secretive: Lovers who must mourn in silence and enemies who find their victory tastes bitter.

  • The Illuminators: Investigators and strangers drawn to the village by rumors of a trial gone wrong.

Confront the many faces of the accused Witch of Grunhollow. Whether you come to mourn her passing, justify her end, or unearth the truth she hid beneath the forest floor, one thing is certain: Amaryllis Codrin is gone, but she is far from finished with this town.

Themes

This is a game that will analyze the accused Witch of Grunhollow; for all her goodness, ugliness, and everything in between. We want players to ask - who was she?

This is NOT a game about actively holding a witch trial.

This is not an exhaustive list of content in the game, but we’ve tried our best to cover the broad strokes. If you have questions on potential triggering content, or want clarification if you can expect certain content not listed here, please reach out and ask!

Grunhollow is written by Keyweynah Sherman, an indigenous writer from the Mono Tribe. Grunhollow will include Native American lore, themes, and history.

Content & Inspiration

Thank you so much for your interest in helping us playtest our newest game!

Our playtests tend to run small, and so there are very few spots open during these test periods. We will not necessarily fill every role listed here. Please know that we value each and every one of you, and even if you don't get into the playtest, we hope you'll look at joining us for future games. ♥

Cost & Expectations
•   Experience: Being a playtest, this will be an unpolished experience. While we will do our best to treat this as we would a full game when it comes to plot and character writing, the goal is to see what works and what doesn't, what characters need rework, what plot holes may have been missed and if this is generally a viable game to run publicly in the future. We'll try to be somewhat immersive with our location choice, but it is not a priority.

•   Cost: Because this is a playtest, we are only looking for participants to help pay for the cost of the AirBnB. If you would like to contribute anything extra, they will go right into props or food. Price is TBD based on what BnB we go with.

•   Food & Travel: Players will need to handle their own food and transportation at this time.

•   Location: TBD, but will likely be in one of our GM locations ( Washington or Texas, with preference to Washington ).
